Matcha Panna Cotta

I had some matcha powder left over from making matcha crepe cake for my friend so I tried to make Panna cotta with it. It turned out very nice, smooth and not with an over powering green tea flavor. This is an easy dessert to make at home for anyone who loves green tea.

1/3 cup skim milk or 2% milk
1 (.25 ounce) envelope unflavored gelatin
2 1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup heavy cream, whipped
1/2 cup white sugar
2 teaspoon matcha powder
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

1. Pour milk into a small bowl, and stir in the gelatin powder. Set aside.

2. In a small bowl, mix 1/4 of sugar with green tea powder.

3. In a saucepan, stir together the heavy cream and remaining sugar, and set over medium heat. Bring to a full boil, watching carefully, as the cream will quickly rise to the top of the pan. Pour the gelatin and milk into the cream, stirring until completely dissolved. Cook for one minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, stir in the vanilla
and pour into a green tea mixture. Whisk until well combined. Strain and pour into six individual ramekin dishes.

4. Cool the ramekins uncovered at room temperature. When cool, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate overnight. Spoon whipped cream on top before serving.
